As The Gambia prepares for the presidential election scheduled for December 2026, Marie Sock Diaby, leader of the Alliance Social Démocratie (ASD) and an independent presidential candidate, has issued a message to the country’s youth.
The candidate urged young Gambians to remain vigilant against political manipulation and warned them not to be exploited along tribal or religious lines.
“My advice to the youth of The Gambia: do not allow yourselves to be used by manipulative political actors who exploit tribalism and religion to divide and rule this beautiful country,” Marie Sock Diaby said
.According to the ASD leader, The Gambia’s future depends above all on national unity and the ability of its people to rise above divisions. She called on young people to prioritize social cohesion, peace and development.
“We are one Gambia, one people, one destiny. Let us choose unity over division and progress over hatred,” she concluded.
Through this message, Marie Sock Diaby is positioning the youth at the heart of the country’s political future, urging them to make choices based on the national interest rather than communal or religious divisions.
